Our Wellesley MA dental office can help you curb your sleep apnea and snoring issues IMMEDIATELY with a special oral appliance. Tocci Dental Associates is here to help you overcome your dental problems, big or small. Sleep apnea is a much bigger than you might think. Today we want to share a little information about how sleep issues affect the body and how we can help.

The Problem With Sleep Apnea

Sleep apnea is a dangerous problem that causes people to experience pauses in breathing. People with severe sleep apnea can experience as many as 30 pauses an hour. There are two types of sleep apnea, obstructive sleep apnea and central sleep apnea. Obstructive sleep apnea is the most common form of sleep apnea, and it happens when soft tissues blocks the airway.

During these sleep apnea episodes, people often snore loudly or gasp for air AND they will experience a rise in blood pressure. In fact, people with sleep apnea often have high blood pressure, putting them at an elevated risk of problems like stroke and heart disease. As you can see, sleep apnea is a serious overall health problem that can increase your risk of deadly problems.

Take Control of Your Sleep Apnea

Those are a few of the more serious health risks (there are many more unfortunately) associated with sleep apnea, but to your family members and those in your house … sleep apnea can be extremely disruptive. Some of our patients have said their constant snoring has put a strain on their marriage. Or maybe they took to sleeping in different beds for years.

When you come to Tocci Dental Associates, you can get rid of your snoring and sleep apnea concerns with a simple oral appliance. And you don’t necessarily need a CPAP to treat your sleep apnea. We’re using a special oral appliance to help patients with mild to moderate sleep apnea. The oral appliance pushes the lower jaw forward to ensure that the airway stays open during sleep.

Benefits of the oral appliance include:

  • Easy to use
  • Easy to store
  • No CPAP needed
  • Will Not disrupt sleep partner
  • Works Immediately

The oral appliance allows you to manage your sleep apnea and achieve a better night’s rest. Your family and travel companions will thank you for managing your snoring or sleep apnea!
