What It Does & Why We Use It
FIT Tests are made by a medical diagnostics company called KBMO Diagnostics in order to measure sensitivities to up to 132 different foods and food products like food coloring and additives. The test can be used for many purposes, such as:
- Determining which foods are causing disease and inflammation for a patient
- Developing a nutritional guide that is customized for each individual
- Improving a patient’s energy levels and overall health
Food sensitivities and diseases related to them affect at least 100 million people across the globe and have been linked to a number of afflictions, including:
- Skin rashes
- Chronic intestinal diseases
Normally, your body would clear any food antigens (foreign substances that trigger an immune response) from circulation with the help of your liver and/or spleen, but this does not always occur as it should.
Because the issues can occur up to 72 hours after consumption, pinpointing which foods are causing the reactions can be incredibly difficult.
Of all of the food tests on the market, the one we use is the most sensitive option available. Because KBMO Diagnostics is based in Massachusetts less than an hour away, you’ll get your results quickly!
A big part of why the KBMO Diagnostics test is so sensitive is because it simultaneously measures two substances that affect food sensitivity.
The sample required to perform the test can be obtained with a small blood draw or by using a finger stick. Based on the results, we’ll recommend an elimination diet to remove reactive foods for between eight and twelve weeks. This should help improve or reduce your symptoms.
